2019 marks the first-annual Gordon Square Music Showcase which is a community engagement program of The Cleveland Orchestra’s Neighborhood Partners initiative. “Neighborhood Partners” is the evolution of The Cleveland Orchestra’s past Neighborhood Residency program (which took place in several neighborhoods—Gordon Square being the first in 2013). Throughout this year, Orchestra staff have been working with key community leaders, organizations and schools to identify the needs and interests of the neighborhood, from which the Gordon Square Music Showcase was created. Leading up to the day of music-making (Saturday, March 2), Cleveland Orchestra musicians and chorus directors will visit each school to coach and mentor the students on their showcase repertoire. 8P>~b
